Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts festival

Emerging  Artist Scholarship recipient 2019

7 DAYS of art, fun, music, and food.  Three Rivers Arts festival held from June 7th till 12th in Pittsburgh PA and I was there the 12th-16th 12pm-8pm daily!

 

The scholarship grant from the Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts festival provided the space, tent and amenities for free. It also provided the mentorship that was most needed at that time and an opportunity to network with other artists.

Free painting giveaway
Event: South Fayette community day
Date: Aug 26th

Location: Fairview Park

Come and create a collaborative art and grab free painting of your choice along with free face painting.
Painted egg distribution
Event: Bunny Hop
Date: April 14th

Location: Fairview Park

More than 400 hand painted eggs will be distributed to all the cars in this drive through event . The students have worked hard to spread kindness and colors far and wide.

Project- Love Tree
Delivered: Dec 6th 2021

Theme: Kindness and Holiday wish

​

This project is about making  handmade kindness themed cards by the students and being hung in the tree like structure called 'Love Tree'. Two trees were donated to Maggie women's hospital.

Youth Gallery show- Children's museum of Pittsburgh
Exhibit month: July 2021

Theme: Kindness

This art exhibit focuses on showcasing the different talents from the young kids.

A simple act of kindness can change the world one step at a time. Implementing kindness at a very young age can go a long way.

This is an effort to pass on the ways to show kindness through art.

The kids have worked hard to pour their minds into creating their artworks.

Feel the love, compassion and kindness spread in the air.

Three Rivers Arts festival-Emerging artist scholarship
June 9th till 13th 2021
As a consecutive year of Emerging Artist scholarship festival, the booth was setup for 5 days. The show was a great success with more than 30,000 people.
Mother's day event
May 9th 2021-Mother's day
Mommy and baby mural filled with hand painted rocks from students, will be installed at the patio in South Fayette library for Mother's day. The boulders are painted by the students with motherhood theme as well. The mural and boulder display will be available for a week's display before the rocks are distributed to the public.
Masks for heroes
Feb 14th 2021-Valentine's day
Students were involved in creating hand painted masks to honor the frontline workers.
Colors of Love
Dec 2020
Handmade greeting cards from the students will be distributed to the grandma and grandpa at the senior home for Christmas.
Snowflake project by Central PA Festival of Arts 
Dec 2020

More than 200 paper snowflakes from the students will be used to create a hanging statue at the State College during Christmas week.
Halloween mystery bags distribution
October 30th 2020

Students arrive in costumes to collect the Halloween special mystery bags. There will be photoshoot with the friendly ghost.
Pinnacle Pointe driveway chalk art contest
August 30th 2020
​
Driveway chalk art contest was initiated during the pandemic to bring out the spirits of the residents. This motivated everyone to spread some sunshine and positive vibes when a lot of people were feeling down, isolated and bored.
Virtual art show from the students
May 30th 2020

Due to Covid-19, the students art show, partnered with South Fayette township has been cancelled. Instead, there was a virtual art show with the same fun and colors.

Youth Acrylic Painting class with Priya Arts

February 25th 2020, Tuesday 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

For Ages 3rd - through 6th grade

You don’t have to visit Alaska for a spectacular view of northern lights. You can create your own Aurora Borealis right under your eyes. Learn how to paint the northern lights with acrylic paint on canvas.

Art banner donation for Cancer center:

Around 35 students from Priya Arts will be making a 'Kindness' themed handmade artwork that is made into a life-sized banner. This banner will be donated to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at Shadyside for Valentine's day. 

​

Join the students and the Cancer center crew on this special occasion to spread some kindness.

3D Painting with Priya Arts

For Ages 11-18

We have an incredible, local artist, Priya, coming to our library to teach teens how to create a 3D painting! Selva Priya is a renowned artist and instructor in Pittsburgh who owns the art studio- ‘Priya Arts’. She teaches art for all ages. She works as a Clinical Data Analyst in UPMC during weekdays and teaches art in her studio during the weekend. She has been doing many paintings and some of the works can be seen in her studio. Her passion and hard work towards art earned her the ‘Emerging Artist scholarship’ award from the Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts festival for the year 2019. This award gave her exposure to other great artists, mentors and galleries in and around Pittsburgh. One of her paintings ‘Vintage books’ has been displayed in South Fayette Township Library.
